YOU ARE BORN

This video was made for Project Reason's 2012 Video Contest.

Project Reason is a nonprofit foundation devoted to spreading scientific knowledge and secular values in society. My initial inspiration was drawn from these themes, which then led me to this thought- What makes scientists and non-religious people different from religious folk? What is the antithesis of a scientist?

Scientists relentlessly seek understanding by means of the scientific method. Religion advocates for faith. It indoctrinates children early and stifles critical thinking. Simply put, scientists keep asking questions, religious people eventually stop.

Children often ask the right questions, but adults give the wrong answers. With the help of positive outside influences, a child can overcome this barrier. The child can mature and continue asking questions.

Every person starts their physical life with birth... but far fewer experience intellectual birth. I made this video to demonstrate that mental struggle.
